Mark Goodkey Memorial Trophy
Male Academic All-Canadian Athlete of the Year
Presented to the male academic All-Canadian Athlete of the Year, the Mark Goodkey Memorial Trophy honours the memory of former Golden Bears Hockey player Mark Goodkey who died tragically on March 25, 1996. Goodkey played 1992–1993 to 1995–1996 but passed away after being hit in the throat during a pick-up game at Clare Drake Arena after the season had concluded. He was a two-time CIAU Academic All-Canadian and two‑time Clare Drake Award winner and received the Henry Singer Bursary Award in his final season. The Alberta Junior Hockey League has an annual scholarship to honour the former Junior “A” player.
