Assiniboia Hall

Assiniboia

Athabasca Hall’s sister building, Assiniboia Hall, was erected in 1912. The offices of the President (Henry Marshall Tory) and of the Registrar (C.E. Race) were moved to Assiniboia. The library and stackrooms were in the north end of the basement. The first librarian, Mr Burrows, had a suite in Assiniboia Hall, as did Drs Sonet, Sheldon, Allan, and Servis.

The first Bursar, Mr Ashworth, had a small room in the basement. The Wauneita Society also started in Assiniboia Hall.

The Extension Department (under Mr Ottewell), the Printing Department (under Mr Peters), the bookstore, and the post office (both under Mr C. Hosford), all had their starts in Assiniboia Hall.
