Built in 1911, Alberta College, (commonly known as St Stephen’s) is technically the first building constructed at the University. Although the College was affiliated with the University of Alberta, and many of its students were among the University’s earliest participants, the facility was not officially part of the University and does not receive recognition as its first building. Athabasca Hall holds this distinction.
