"Building Dean" honoured for contributions to scientific community
Since he was appointed Dean of Engineering in 1995, Dr David Lynch has overseen recruitment efforts that have brought a 40 percent increase in undergraduate enrollment. Graduate enrollment has more than doubled in the last five years, during a time when national rates remained flat. The engineering faculty has grown by one third, to 165 people, including 10 National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Steacie fellows, the most for any engineering faculty in Canada. He also secured a $250 million investment for engineering infrastructure improvements on campus.
