Creative Services

Through award-winning graphic design, photography, and web design, Creative Services provides a unique and valuable resource to the University community. The unit works closely with Public Affairs to ensure that campus clients have first-rate communications support for initiatives such as the Report to the Community and the University's annual Celebration of Teaching and Learning.

As the only cost-recovery unit in External Relations, Creative Services works hard to ensure it keeps ahead of the wave in technological developments in design and photography, including moving toward digital photography and improved computer-aided design, ensuring its campus customers have access to innovative and state-of-the-art products and designs, including publications that reflect the desired tone and context while keeping in mind audience and communication goals.

The staff of Creative Services help clients develop a specific corporate or brand identity and image; create environmental graphics such as three-dimensional logos, dedication plaques, donor recognition systems, award recognition systems, award plaques, and award walls; create award-winning illustrations that go beyond printed words; create strong, vibrant photography; and provide full web design and development services using the latest in technology.

The University of Alberta Web Project is an initiative of the Office of External Relations designed to enable a consistent and well-designed web presence for the University as a whole, as well as for individual faculties and departments.
