Lambda Chi Alpha

Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity house

Lambda Chi Alpha, founded November 9, 1909 by Warren A. Cole, a student at Boston University, is the third-largest fraternity internationally, and Epsilon-Rho at the University of Alberta is one of Lambda Chi Alpha's oldest chapters. Its nearly 900 initiated brothers have included men of various backgrounds, ethnicities, and religious faiths.

Throughout the year, Lambda Chi Alpha participates in many community initiatives, including its International Food Drive, volunteering with the Edmonton Scarecrow Festival, an annual blood drive, and many important but smaller projects. Giving not only enriches the community, but provides a more well-rounded university experience. In fact, during Lambda Chi Alpha's 1997 North American Food Drive, the University of Alberta's Epsilon-Rho alone raised over 15,300 pounds (6184 kilograms) of food. At the time of press coverage by the Edmonton Journal and Edmonton Sun, no other organization had raised as much food for the Edmonton Food Bank.
