Frank Morris

In the Canadian professional football ranks, Frank Morris participated as a player and as a director of player development in nineteen Canadian Football League Grey Cup games and was on the winning team thirteen times.

After retiring as a player from the professional ranks, Morris joined the coaching staff of the University of Alberta Golden Bears football team in 1959 and served as offensive and defensive line coordinator. During his tenure, the Bears won the 1963 Golden Bowl, the precursor to what is now known as the Vanier Cup.

From 1970-88, Morris re-joined the Edmonton Eskimos and served as director of player development. He proved to be a superb judge of player talent, and his reports influenced college player selection among all of the professional teams in Canada. In 1981, he was awarded an honorary lifetime membership in the Canadian College Football Association and in 2001, was inducted to the University of Alberta's Sports Wall of Fame.
