Valerie Campbell
Valerie J. Campbell, 1999 LLB, through her tremendous dedication and compassion, has been a positive force in Alberta's criminal justice system. She spearheaded significant changes in the way the province deals with domestic violence. As a crown prosecutor, she worked on many high-profile cases, including one that garnered national attention on the TV show W-FIVE. Seconded from that position, she is now the coordinator of family violence initiatives for Alberta Justice. In 2004, she received the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award for her outstanding contributions to the legal profession.Campbell is a 2005 recipient of the University of Alberta Alumni Association's Award of Excellence.
